The dinner party on Wednesday was such a success and your cooking was absolutely delicious. Everyone has written to say what an excellent dinner it was and I don’t know how you manage to think of so many different things to cook. You do everything so calmly and efficiently but without any formality. Everyone feels relaxed which is very important - especially for me! We do appreciate how much preparation is involved and all the effort you put into presentation which makes such a difference. When everyone saw how immaculately you had left the kitchen they were very impressed.

Now that the dust has settled I just want to say how amazingly fantastic you and your team are - as ever the food was sensational - every single bit of it, and when I saw the grim working conditions for your staff, to produce such as you did, and present it all so perfectly, was truly a miracle! (We loved the photo of the girl’s hands in dirty cold washing up water, and the chef doing the puddings!) You just made it all so easy for us - your smile and easy manner is so reassuring and your staff so pleasant. And thank you for so calmly laying up more places on Sunday - there were no extra mouths to feed so I don’t know what happened - and still you remained unruffled and smiling!
